Peace and Gratitude

This piece is a garden bell with two Japanese characters (Kanji’s). One Kanji means peace and the other is gratitude. You can spin the bell around by hand. It hangs from a branch with copper leaves that I made from various pieces of pipe and pipe fittings I had laying around the studio. I welded multiple layers of weld beads on the pipe to give it a bark-like texture. I made a striker that hangs from the branch to hit the bell with and the tone and resonance is wonderful.
